Find and remove extra rows and columns to improve performance

- [Instructor] In this sub lesson, we're going to improve performance by identifying and removing unnecessary rows and columns. All right, so before we start, in general, it is best to only bring the data that you need into your data model. And as you prove that you need data, then start bringing it through into Power BI. It's much easier to do it that way than bring everything into Power BI at once, and then try and figure out later on how to go ahead and get rid of things after you determine you do not need it. So this is a best practice. So we first want to look at going ahead and getting rid of rows, which is pretty easy to do inside of Power BI. We can choose, you know, column one there and get rid of all the rows that have A in their value to reduce the data set like this. We could then do something similar with our columns. We could say, you know what? We don't want columns four and five, let's go ahead and get rid of those, and put our data set down to something like this. So…
