Add actions based on yes or no condition results
- [Lecturer] In this movie, we're going to take a look at adding actions based on yes and no, or in our case, true or false condition results. Now, let's take a quick look at our condition. Remember, if the subject in our email contains equipment request, if that is true, we want it to do something. So what we're going to do is add an action. We're going to click here and we're going to go back down to the control action because what we want is something called apply to each, because we're going to have several steps in this action. Now, if we, and let me close this for a second, notice we get the invalid parameters. We have to go ahead and open this up and select some output from the previous step. Now remember, we're looking for emails with attachments and equipment request in the subject. So what we want is, we're going to click on our dynamic content, attachments. That's going to satisfy this action. So you see invalid parameter is gone. If the condition is true, if the subject contains equipment request, look at the attachments, apply to each attachments. Now, what we need to do then is go ahead and add another action. So we're going to click here, and this is going to be a SharePoint action. And the one that we want is create file, not create item. Here, create file. Because we're dealing with a document library, not a list. Okay. So now we have to go ahead and find the site where we want to put this attachment. So we're going to look through here. Equipment request. Now, we have to go to folder path, and you see the little folder here, it's going to show us all of our folders in that SharePoint site. And the one we want surprisingly is equipment requests. (laughing) Now, the file name. We're going to click on our dynamic content and we don't see anything that says file name in here. But again, come up here to the upper right and we have an option to see more. And when we click in here, now we're going to find what we want. And there it is, attachment name. Now we see file content. So we're going to click here and again, we have to see more and we go back down to attachments content. So now we are done with our true action. And let's review because I know it gets a little confusing. If our condition statement is true, if the subject contains equipment request, apply to each step in here and we apply it to our attachments, but we're going to open this up. We're looking in the equipment requests folder. We're going to pull the file name and the file content, and then it's going to create that SharePoint file in that SharePoint folder. Now, let's go over to the other side. False. We can add a false action if we need to. Let's say maybe if the condition was not true, if the subject did not contain equipment request and we wanted it to do something else, we could add an action there. But in our case, because we really don't want to do anything to other emails, we can just leave this blank. So if that condition is not met, if it's false, Power Automate won't do anything. So in our case, all we really needed to worry about is the true condition being met so it performs our actions. So now you've seen how to go ahead and add action based on that yes and no or in this case, true false conditional statements.
