- [David] The best practice method for assigning rights or permissions to users is to gather all of those users that require the same rights or permissions and to group them inside of a Entra ID group. So let's take a look at the groups now. So if I click on groups in the Entra Admin Center, I will see all groups. And here, I will see all of the groups that exist in my Entra ID tenant. All of these groups have been pre-created. I see their names as well as an ID here. Again, this information is blurred out for you, but if you have administrative privileges over your tenant, you will see those object IDs that are actually globally unique IDs or GUIDs, as well as the group type. Now, there are three group types, security, Microsoft 365, and distribution. However, if I go to create a new group inside of my tenant, I will only have two choices, security or Microsoft 365.
