Implementing Azure policies
- [Instructor] Hello. In this lecture, we're going to look at Azure policy. So Azure policy allows us to define rules that can limit what we can do within the Azure environment. And that might be denying the creation of resources that meet certain criteria, updating them, or even sending us a report that something is no longer compliant. And the great thing about policy is that this applies separately to IAM or RBAC-based rules. So in other words, even though you might have the highest level of privileges, if you've got a policy that denies you from doing something, you will still get denied, even though you've got that highest level of privileges. And the only way you could get around it would be to go and disable that policy. So we're going to have a step through implementing a policy to see how it works. In the Azure portal, go and search policy. And the first thing you'll see is a number of policies that are already applied. So by default, Azure often applies this default policy…
