- [Instructor] Maya's component tags can help you with modeling by creating named sets of components so you can create selections that you can recall later. So let me show you how this works. So I'm going to go ahead and select the body of this guy, and let's go into the attribute editor. Now under the shape node, so he has the geometry shape and his material mode. So let's go into the shape node, and you'll see that down here we have what's called component tags. Now this allows you to create a named selection set. So I already have a couple of them set up. So what we have here is you can create a selection of faces, vertices, or edges, and then store them. So I already have a couple stored here. So I have this one called leg left. If I right click and go select components, it goes ahead and it selects those faces. Now here I have one that's vertices leg right. In fact, and if I go ahead and select those, it selects those faces there. So right click, select components, there we go…
