Solution: Master HLOOKUP - Microsoft Excel Tutorial
From the course: Mastering Lookup Functions in Excel: Seven Powerful Formulas
Solution: Master HLOOKUP
(energetic music) - [Instructor] Were you able to solve the challenge? Let's have a look at the solution. I'll start by typing equal hlookup, and then open parentheses. Now I'm being asked from my lookup value, which will be the year that I have selected over here. If I hit comma, I'll then be prompted for my table array. I'll select my entire balance sheet. I'll hit comma again. Okay, now I'm being prompted for my row index, so I'll count from the top until I get to inventories. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I'll hit comma one last time, and then I'll enter zero for my match type. Let's now close the parentheses and hit enter and look at that. My value populates. If I change the year, the value updates as well. Way to go on solving our hlookup challenge. Now it's time to move on to one of the most powerful lookups, xlookup.
