Maps to share and maps to explore

- There's one big consideration when you're trying to choose what UX map type to create. Are you planning to use the map to help you explore the data, and develop new insights, or primarily to share what you already know with other people? If you're using the map to explore the data like with an experience, empathy, or a scenario map, then it's the map creation process that's most important. So don't start with rigid boundaries. Use rearrangable elements like sticky notes so that you can keep the map fluid as long as possible. Be prepared to take some steps back, and rearrange your findings on the map to create new groupings of data, especially if a new observation you add contradicts what you've already found.
