- [Instructor] Anytime that you create an Azure virtual machine, that virtual machine is connected to a virtual network. Let me show you what I mean. I'm going to click on Create, and then I'll click on Azure virtual machine. This takes me to the create a virtual machine interface and I'm just going to select the Networking tab. And right here you can see a place where I can select a virtual network. I can choose from an existing virtual network or I can create a brand new one if I need to. Now, when you create a virtual machine, you can create port rules to protect that virtual machine, but you can do a similar thing with a virtual network. You can create a firewall that protects that virtual network. So let's take a look at how to do that.
