Exercise: Draft a reply to an email in another language
- Imagine if you got an email from me in Spanish, can you draft a response back? Pause the video and create a response where you recommend your colleague Sarah to join the meeting instead. If your native language is Spanish and this isn't a skill you need to practice, give Chinese a try. Can you draft a response back? How did you do? I added how I want to respond to the email and quickly got a reply. Respond politely and decline the invite to collaborate. In practice, you should mention to the recipient that the response was generated by AI and may contain errors. For something high stakes, you'll want to use a translation service or use the AI translation as a starting point before having someone who knows the language verify the content first. As you can see in this chapter, there are lots of ways Gen AI can help with your communication, the first C from the three C framework. We'll move on to collaboration and culture in the next chapter.
