Create a contact from scratch
- [Instructor] A contact doesn't have to come from a lead. In other words, you can create contacts on the fly without creating the lead first and then converting it. That's what we're going to do in this movie. We're already looking at Current Contacts and notice that these contacts that we've already created, one was converted, one was cloned, If you're creating a contact, you'll be prompted to enter account information. If it's an existing account, no problem it gets added. If there is no account name, you'll be creating that account on the fly. So let's keep that in mind as we go up here to the plus sign. Give it a click to start a brand new contact. We're creating it from scratch. that we've been in touch with that wants to get going on a deal. So we skip the whole lead process and go right to the contact. By default you will be the contact owner. You'll see your name up there. It's time to start adding information.
