- [Instructor] Networks are complicated, and when dealing with voiceover IP traffic, we may not have a lot of control outside of the local area network. However, on our own local area network, we do have control. An organization has an internal data network and things are going well. The next logical step is to implement a VoIP system. When considering VoIP you need to ask is your network ready? Many businesses want reliability and functionality. Adding voice to an existing infrastructure that has been designed for data flow take some planning. The network must be able to ensure it has a high-quality voice that's mean opinion score of 3.5 to 4.2, and that there are no dropped calls or no delay variation or jitter. Now what's jitter?
