Understanding levels and grids
- [Instructor] In this video, we'll cover levels and grids. Levels and grids are data elements used to locate geometry in your project. Levels mark the important building heights and grids are typically used to locate structural elements. We're starting here in a blank project and to work on levels, we do need to either be in a section view or an elevation view. So I'm going to open this section view that cuts right through the middle of the floor plan here by selecting it, right click, and then choose Go to View. Now I'll zoom in over here on the right and you can see that there are two levels that already exist in this project. Let's add a few more. We can do so on the Architecture tab using the Level tool. Now before you click it, I also want to point out that many commands in Revit have keyboard shortcuts. That's what you see in parentheses next to the name of the tool when you read its tool tip.
