Create a custom template and slide master
- [Instructor] Ever opened a PowerPoint file and found mismatched fonts, colors, or layouts? A custom template solves this problem by giving you a consistent professional look in every presentation. It also saves time by setting up slides correctly from the start. The slide master is where you design your template, controlling fonts, colors, backgrounds, and placeholders in one place. Let's customize one together. First, we'll need to open the slide master. Go to the View tab and click on slide master. This opens a new set of slides. You'll see the slide thumbnail pane here is different, and you'll also notice the Slide Master tab in the ribbon here is open. This indicates we're in the slide master view. Let's scroll up to the very top. The largest slide at the very top here is called the parent layout, and it dictates how the rest of the layouts look.
