Make a quick selection
- [Instructor] The Quick Selection tool, like the Magic Wand tool, selects based on color and tone. But it has another important feature, which is that it can detect the edges of objects. And so with this tool, you get a lot more control than you get with the Magic Wand tool. The Quick Selection tool is located in the tool slot with the Magic Wand. I'll select it. And let's say that I want to select all these yellow tents in order to change their color. I'll start with the tent on the right. I'll click and drag over the tent, and in just a second, most of the tent is selected and the selection automatically stopped at the edge of the tent. I didn't draw this selection manually as I would with the Selection tool, for example, or the Lasso tool. I just moved my mouse and the tool goes ahead of me looking for pixels of similar color and tone and stopping when it sees what it considers an edge.
