Crop to specific dimensions
- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to talk about how to crop an image to specific dimensions, in particular dimensions for online use, which will be in pixels. So let's say that we're cropping this image to a square for use on Instagram, and we want it to be 1080 pixels in width and 1080 pixels in height. How do we do that? Well, in the last movie, we learned how to crop to a specific aspect ratio. But remember, an aspect ratio is not the same as dimensions. It's just a proportion of width to height. Now we want to crop to actual pixels. So here's how you do that. The first step is to select the crop tool in the toolbar and then go up to the Options bar and go to the menu labeled Ratio and change that to W x H x Resolution, Width by Height by Resolution. And now you can enter the width and height in pixels right here in these fields. So click in the first of those fields and type 1080, and then press Tab to go to the next field and to have Photoshop type in px, pixels, as the…
