Challenge: Encrypting a thumb drive
- [Narrator] Your task is to apply Bitlocker encryption to a thumb drive. The process is described in another video in this course. For this challenge, you need a thumb drive. Though any external media works, this drive can have data on it or it can be empty. Either way is okay. Add the drive to the computer. Follow the steps from the other video to apply Bitlocker encryption to the media complete with password. Ensure that you choose a backup method for the password, such as printing out the decryption key. After applying Bitlocker encryption, eject or remove the drive. Then reinsert it to ensure that it's encrypted and Windows prompts for a password. Enter the password to gain access to the drive. You can keep the drive as is, or you can choose to remove Bitlocker protection. It's up to you. Either way, this task could take you five minutes to complete or longer if the drive contains a significant amount of data.
