- [Instructor] So once the basic identity of the sound is set, we can go over and start doing a little bit of modulation. Modulation really is the name of the game, as far as bringing life and musicality and just authenticity to a synthesizer sound. Something that just sits there and lays flat is very seldom going to do the trick and have an emotionally triggering performance, musically speaking. So, let's go down here and let's take a look at our envelopes, and if you're not seeing those, you can just click right here where it says E1, 2, and 3. And we've got three envelopes to start off with, okay? Now, these envelopes may look a little bit complex compared to something that you might've seen on like a Minimoog, for example, and they are, but they do possess those basic settings.
