Add additional sections

- [Instructor] Your LinkedIn profile is something that you'll continue to build over time. When first getting started, though, you should put in time and effort to make sure you're including things that you want other people to see about you. Your LinkedIn profile is your opportunity to tell your story. LinkedIn provides some additional sections that you can add in order to showcase your accomplishments. We've added some main sections, such as the About, the Featured section, Experience, Education, Skills. But now I want to take a look at some additional ones. So up here at the top, we can click on Add Profile Section. When I do that, we've seen this before. These are a lot of the core ones. I'm going to click on Recommended. Here's Add Featured, but there are some more. Maybe you have licenses and certifications that you'd like to put on here. Maybe you have projects you've completed that you could click here and then fill this out. It walks you through completing any of these things that you want to add to your profile. I'll go back here to Recommended. You can see here it also has Add Projects, Courses, Recommendations. I'll talk about this in another video. If I click Additional, there's even a bunch more. So Volunteer Experience, Publications, Patents, Honors and Awards, Test Scores, Languages, Organizations, Causes, and more. So you're obviously not going to want to add all of these. In fact, that'll take away from the ones that are very meaningful. But I just want to point out that this provides a lot of ways for you to showcase yourself. As a student without much work experience, you should consider sharing anything noteworthy that will help you add to your personal brand and show potential employers what you've accomplished. So if you feel that adding a section will add value to your profile, then take some time and complete that section.
