Finish a Jenkins installation
- [Narrator] I've completed a Jenkins installation using Docker, and I've opened my browser to show local host Port 80 80. No matter what system you used for your installation, you'll need to get the initial admin password to unlock the software before you can continue. Refer to the installation instructions and exercise files to find the precise location for your system. I'm using a Docker system, so I've copied my initial administrator password from the indicated location. I'll paste the password here to proceed. On the next screen, we can install the suggested plugins. These are the plugins that are most commonly used by Jenkins. It might take a minute or two for the plugins to install. So let's wait for this to complete. Next, you'll be prompted to create your first admin user. At this point, you can create an account with a username and password. You'll also need to enter a name and an email address. In our sandbox environment, the email address doesn't have to be a real one, but it does have to be in a valid email format with a name and at sign and a domain. On the instance configuration screen, accept the detailed Jenkins URL and then click save and finish. And that's it. You're ready to start using Jenkins.
