- [Instructor] Imagine you're managing the budget for all of Dataville's traffic systems. If you overspend on traffic lights or cameras, there won't be enough left for road maintenance or new projects. The same goes for managing the cost of machine learning in Amazon SageMaker. If you're not careful, expenses can pile up quickly. Before diving into cost saving tips, it's important to understand the major cost factors in Amazon SageMaker. Compute costs include charges for training instances and inference endpoints, based on their type and usage duration. Storage costs come from Amazon S3, data sets and model artifacts, and EBS volumes attached to notebook instances. Additionally, there are data transfer costs for moving data between SageMaker and other services, and costs associated with using feature store and model monitor for tracking and monitoring models.
