- [Instructor] Now let's talk about vector image formats. Now, we discussed this a little bit previously and vector image formats are basically data that is stored as shape and lines, but not pixels. Now, these are very high fidelity. Because they're shapes, you can zoom in as much as you want and not lose resolution. Now, unfortunately, vector image formats are usually not photorealistic. That's kind of left to the bitmap files. Now, one really good reason to use vector formats with 3D is that it's a great way to get 2D shapes into 3D software for further work. So in this case, we're taking an outline of a font and extruding it. It's great for things such as logos, graphic design, motion graphics, and so on. Now, there are a number of vector formats on the markets. We're just going to cover a couple of these. Adobe Illustrator, Scalable Vector Graphics or SVG files, and Encapsulated PostScript.
