- A shift is happening in teaching and learning all over the world. Whether in classrooms of seven-year-olds, single parents taking online courses at night, and even in traditional university settings, learners are becoming more represented in their own ways of learning. Here's the key to make this work. Educators and designers must be responsive to this representation, which brings us to the second pillar of ILD. So how do you do so? Let's explore, and as I go through these elements, ask yourself, what are you already doing? What would be easy to implement? What would you like to implement but is more challenging? And then what is not applicable? First, add questions about motivations and general life to the pre-learning survey in an effort to understand the full lives of your learners. And as a result, are there design tweaks you can make to help learners who have full-time jobs, long commutes, those who felt isolated…
