That is essential for aligning your work and contributing effectively. Sometimes goals are unstated and show themselves in the culture and practices of the business, but most organizations have stated and sometimes public vision statements and goals. That means that one way of understanding their goals and strategy is to start with reviewing documents, things like their mission statement, vision statement, values and strategic plans.
