Creating complementary pattern elements

- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to fill in these gaps by creating complimentary pattern elements that tessellate into each other. And I've gone ahead and created a diagram of exactly where these gaps are and how we're going to go about filling them. So notice where this one tile is concerned. So you want to focus on a single tile to really get the picture. We have this gap right here but I'm going to go ahead and fill it in all the way to the arrow with this blue coming into the orange region, the purple comes into the yellow region, the red comes into the green arrow, the orange comes into the blue arrow and so forth. And that will allow us to ultimately create this effect here which if you didn't really know it in advance, it doesn't even look like it's a hexagonal pattern.
