- When Microsoft studied their remote employees, they found something a little unexpected. What they found was about 42% of remote employees thought that their connections with their coworkers were getting stronger. Only about 36% thought that they were getting weaker. So for most people, remote work was improving the relationship with their coworkers. But the part that was surprising was that most workers also had a weaker connection with people outside their team. That meant that people had a closer connection with their team, but a weaker connection with anyone outside their team. If you think about it, this makes a lot of sense. Think about the ways that you've met people outside your team. It's usually because you sit near them, or maybe you go to lunch at the same time.
