Seduction in action

- Remember the way people tend to choose the round wheel, rather than the square one? When we see a product, communication, machine, or any design form, one of our first considerations is to determine if it is pleasurable and easy to use, or challenging and stressful. We prefer pleasure and ease and are seduced by the possible enjoyment in engaging the object. When I receive a package for a small item, overpackaged with multiple boxes and plastic that requires too much effort, I'm not happy. But a single beautiful box that opens smoothly will make me love a brand. One of the clearest examples of the power of seduction and human response, aside from the romantic, is the telephone. I know it may seem that a telephone has little to do with contemporary life, but indulge me.
