- Have you thought about adjusting your presentation specifically for the size of the room and the number of people in your audience? The physical environment, screen size, and audience size all make a difference in how your presentation is received, and you want it to be received well. Are you presenting in person behind a podium, next to a flat screen, or holding a smartphone? How about virtual video presentations? How large is your audience? 2 people? 10 people, or 200 people? And what's the lighting in the space? A general rule of thumb is to simplify the slides in your presentation with one idea per slide and minimal text. An image, a line or two of text, and your verbal explanation of the finer points are best for large and medium-sized audiences.
