Filters
- [Instructor] There are essentially three different types of filters, high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass. A high-pass filter rolls off all frequencies below the selected frequency cutoff, allowing the high frequencies to pass through. A low-pass filter is the opposite as it rolls off all frequencies above the selected frequency cutoff, allowing the low frequencies to pass through. A band-pass filter is a combination of a high-pass and low-pass filter as they roll off above and below the selected frequency band while only letting the middle frequencies pass through. Some of the most common filters are the Neve 1073, which I covered earlier, has a very musical high-pass filter included in the module. It offers a selectable frequency switch, giving you the options to filter from 50, 80, 160 or 300 hertz.
