What is reality capture and how does it work?
As we start this new chapter, we're going to be taking a look at reality capture technology. Now, reality capture technology is the technology you use to convert your drone data, your images, and your videos to a format that can be managed in a 3D model. So aerial reality capture is when a drone is utilized to capture real-world data, and that real-world data can then be converted to 3D models. And subsequently, from those 3D models, you can generate your construction documents such as drawings. So in the case of the DJI Mini Pro 3 drone that we're using for this particular course, both images (JPEGs) and videos (MP4s) can be collected to generate that real-world data for your models.
