There was an instance in the not too distant past where I was really proud of how I was able to incorporate empathy into the design that I was putting together for a specific training program. This particular company, there was a bit of a disconnect from the bottom to the top, and my first inclination, and the first thing I did was to go talk to these folks with boots on the ground. You know, the front line folks of this company. And I went, hey, this is what's being prescribed, and I just want to talk to you to see what the best way to deliver this sort of experience would be, in a way that helps bridge this gap that we're trying to bridge. And, you know, I'm so glad I did, because talking to these learners, it turns out that this was the wrong prescription for this problem. So how do you uncover knowledge gaps in situations like this? Really the long and the short of it is talk to learners. Avoid prescriptive learning. You know one size does not fit all here. And then go dig deep…
