- [Lecturer] We've seen that technical requirements like partitioning and balancing and other factors have a dramatic impact in the amount of data that actually gets to those modeling algorithms. So, who truly has big data, data sets so large that they pose a true scaling problem? Well, remarkably, LinkedIn has over a billion subscribers worldwide. About half login monthly, but nearly one in five log in daily, and there's an average of 20 INmails sent every second for job opportunities. That's a lot of transactional data. Netflix has over a quarter billion subscribers worldwide. Their most recent engagement report reviewed over 18,000 titles and nearly 100 billion hours viewed, and that was over just a six-month period. So clearly, no one's going to question that we're talking about big data here, but let's talk about two somewhat disguised client examples from my own experience.
