Solution: Enhancing a table with Copilot
(upbeat music) - [Instructor] Welcome back. This challenge was centered on using Copilot to facilitate initial steps of data manipulation. We'll proceed with the exercise file 02_05 Chapter 02 Challenge. The first step is to generate a sales column. Let's open Copilot, and I will instruct Copilot to add a total sales column that multiplies quantity times price. And let's run and get that column. And here's our calculated column. We'll insert it right in our table. Next, I no longer need to view the quantity and price columns, so I'm going to hide them in the worksheet. Now, hiding is kind of controversial, but let's see if Copilot can do it for us. Yes, they're hidden. We can undo that if we wish. My next goal will be to count the number of products in each category. So I'm going to ask for a visualization here. Let's ask visualize the number of products in each category. Now, this is something where we might get Python, so we'll see, and we can always specify against that if that's not what we want. But you never know, that's just part of using Copilot. Okay, and yes, we do get Python here. If we don't want that, let's specify that again. I'll just say, "Don't use Python." Okay, and now we get a more familiar-looking chart here. I'm going to guess this is a pivot chart. Let's insert this into a new worksheet. And yes, that does seem to be the case. So we'll go back to our dataset. Just be familiar with that distinction between Python and non-Python outputs. Last but not least, let's sort this data by total sales in descending order. And the data is sorted. Through this exercise, you're now ready to progress to the next phase of analysis using Copilot.
