- [Instructor] You can reference cells on other worksheets in the same workbook. Let's take a look at this passing grade, which is located in cell H1 on the worksheet labeled Grades. We can reference this on another sheet. I'll place the equal sign, and before referencing the cell, I'll include the worksheet name followed by an exclamation mark. In this case, Grades. (mouse clicks) If the range is already named, you don't have to specify the sheet, just the range name is fine. You can also reference a cell as an absolute reference. A relative reference means it's relative to the location of the cell. An absolute reference means the reference is locked in place, even if the cell value changes its location. Let's look at this formula. This is testing the value of a passing grade according to the grade of the student. Right now, it's testing the value of cell H1.
