- We've covered embedding very briefly when talking about APIs, but in this lesson we'll take our understanding a little bit further. If you recall, we described embedding as a practical way for an entity using Tableau to enhance its own applications with Tableau's own features. To put this into perspective, consider this video you're watching right now unless you're watching it in the full screen experience, the video is playing within a video player inside of LinkedIn Learning. This is a prime example of embedding in action. You can think of the webpage as the application and the video as an embedded object inside of the application. When you start playing the video, the video player asks another system for the video file for this specific lesson and starts playing.
