From the course: Digital Transformation in Supply Chains
Exercise: Process mapping
- We've covered a lot of material, and now it's time for you to practice putting it into action. First, let's think of one process that occurs in your supply chain. I'll use the example of someone who wants the company to buy them a new computer. Then, create a cross-functional flow chart to describe that process. What are the tasks that need to be completed? Who's responsible for completing each step? Once you have the process mapped, look at each step and think about the ways in which you could use the digital technologies we've discussed to make improvements. Don't worry about making it perfect. This is just a chance to practice your process-mapping skills and to use a process map to highlight digital transformation opportunities. Download the Swim Lane template from the exercise files or do it on a blank sheet of paper. After you do it on your own, come back, and in the next video we'll look at what I came up with.
