- [Instructor] So what's the best way to determine which applications can potentially be retired? Well, any time that you're working toward a cloud migration, one of the first steps is to take a comprehensive application inventory. After all, it's impossible to know what applications can be migrated to the cloud until you know what applications are actually being used in your organization. So as you work through the inventory, one of the things that you should be doing is to try to identify an owner for each one of the applications. And one of the reasons why this is so important is because the application's owner can help you to determine if the application is being used and if it's licensed properly, or if it might be a good candidate for being retired. As important as it may be to have a conversation with the application's owner, talking to the application owner isn't the only method for identifying applications that might be good candidates for retirement.
