Creating line and area graphs in Adobe Illustrator
- [Presenter] As with all graphs that you'll create in Adobe Illustrator, to create a line chart or area graph, you must first navigate to the chart choice in your chart dropdown menu. Click and drag until you've created the area you want your graph to appear. Again, you can hold down Shift to make it a perfect square, or don't hold down Shift, and make it any proportion that you want. Unlike other charts, where you'll input data from left to right, a line graph tool treats each column of data as a separate line. So it will be important to enter your data in columns instead of rows. Here's an example dataset. Now, once you have your chart ready, close your data input box and get started stylizing it as you would any other chart by using either the direct select tool or the traditional selection tool. If using the direct select tool, just be prepared that things can be a bit more tedious with a line or area graph than other charts and graphs. This is because these charts plot each data…
