- [Instructor] Network segmentation is basically separating networks between devices and in this course separating IOT networks from others to limit attack surface. Segmentation is one of the essential defense mechanisms against cybersecurity threats. Only the resources required are accessible to each divided group of devices. IOT segmentation can prevent the spread of ransomware or an attacker's movement around the network. Segmenting IOT networks can improve performance as a whole. It is possible to lessen network congestion by separating various operational devices from one another. IOT devices must be segregated from other systems and apps within a company's network as these weak gadgets proliferates.
