Basic lighting setup for products shots
(bright music) - [Woman] When it comes to lighting products, there's no one right way, but there can be a lot of wrong ways. - Definitely. When you're setting your lighting, you always want to watch out for hotspots. Hotspots are putting too much light in one area of the product. If you're seeing hotspots, try adjusting the light, it may be a little too bright but it also could just be a little too close. - [Woman] Now, if you're trying to figure out where it is, it can get frustrating, try waving your hand in front of each light so you can see which one's affecting and where it's coming from. - Always use your waveform or at least some kind of scope to make sure that it's not overexposed. - Or the opposite problem, right? When you're having too much of the product underexposed 'cause, remember, we want to see the product. - So we can look here and check our exposure, we can use our waveform monitors, the screen left…
