How this agent helps save the business
- [Instructor] We're going to build a custom agent. So I want to talk to you about the scenario, why we're building this agent and what its short and long-term implications are. In other words, how this particular agent is going to help the business. The name of the agent that we're going to create, this name was selected by our team, is called Shine HR, and it is an HR policy agent for use by the people who work in human resources or HR. The initial grounding for this policy is going to be the policy documents that live in the HR library, and those documents live right here. Specifically, they live in a folder called Handbooks and Policies. Currently, I only have seven policies and handbooks in there, but the team is working really hard to get all of these policies reviewed and placed into this particular folder. And because we're going to ground our agent in this folder, it doesn't matter that there are seven now and 10 next week and 20 the week after, because we are focused on this folder and its contents. One of the things our team has asked for is the ability to search, not just in our policy documents, but in federal and state employment policy documents. We want to be able to do that, we can't do it yet. This is a feature that is coming to Copilot and SharePoint, but it isn't here yet. So we've got it on our list so we don't lose track of the fact that we're going to do this. There's even a button that would make it seem like we can do this now. I'll show you where it is, but this is is a feature that may well be available by the time you're taking this course. We're going to apply some light branding, just a icon and a name, Shine HR. We're going to share this with our friends on the HR team, and one way to do that is with a link. And another way to do that is to basically post that link in Microsoft Teams, and we might think that's great, we're all done, and in some ways we would be done except the end goal for the HR team is not that we have a policy agent for our own use. We have a self-serve portal that is used by all the employees at KinetEco. This is where they go fill out requests for vacation time. This is where they go look up policies that affect their work and their work life, and the HR team takes questions about content on that site. We want to create an agent that will improve the user experience for everybody at KinetEco on that site. So Shine HR is really a proof of concept for a company-wide HR self-service agent that we'll be creating later next year. So while we're creating Shine HR right now, we're gaining competence and expertise in creating agents for use in SharePoint. And all of that will be applicable then to the company-wide HR self-service agent that is our long-term goal.
