- During my PhD research, I learned about a variety of experiential learning programs that target cultural brokenness by bringing together folks on both sides of a conflict to build relationships and develop shared understanding. For Outward Bound in Oman, this looks like Palestinian and Israeli youth going on a desert expedition together. And being on adventure on mission together creates opportunities for relationship building against all odds. In one experience at the nonprofit I founded, we took groups of students to the Bahamas, where they learned to sail together. By getting them on mission, learning to sail, we created space for relationship building, and a new shared understanding of one another. So what does this mean for you?
