- Classic mom-dad scenario. When you know two folks deal with things differently, you can usually get what you need from the right person at the right time, though, it will come at the expense of the whole. I see this play out in my own home. The kids know to ask me for some things, but for other things, they need to go to mom. They know exactly where their mom and I have different goals, priorities, and preferences. This is a low stakes version of a potentially high stakes challenge. At my workplace, misalignment costs more than simple things. It can cause rifts between functions, confusion between layers, and confusion between teams.
