- Not all users will have access to the Copilot agent features that you'll see in this workshop. The first important detail is that agents are not available in Copilot for individual users. You must have the Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription in an organization like your company, school, or government agency. The second big detail is that Copilot agents are a preview feature, at least at the time of this recording. You may not have these features unless your organization enables the preview for you. More on that in a moment. To start, we'll go to office.com. You must sign in with a Microsoft 365 account that was assigned to you by your company, school, or a similar organization. Once you're signed in on the left, you'll see the Copilot button. I'll click that. And now we're in the Copilot chat and there's a button near the top right to open or close this panel on the right. And here in this panel I see some options for agents. And if you see that, then you're ready to jump into the rest of this workshop. But it is possible that you still won't see the agent options there. There's a small set of baseline Copilot features that are included in all Microsoft 365 accounts, but those baseline features do not include agents. Your organization can pay for the additional subscription called Microsoft 365 Copilot. This requires an additional monthly subscription for each user, and it enables several additional Copilot tools. For example, this will enable Copilot inside of other applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, and it enables Copilot agent features that we will use in this workshop. Now, there is a second scenario. If you do see the switch at the top for work and web, but you do not see the agent tools, it might be because agents are a preview feature at the time of this recording. You may have the right account, but you do not have access to preview features. And in that case, you can ask your organization's Microsoft administrator if they can enable these preview features for you and your teammates. And to help your administrator, here's a quick look at how they can enable those preview features. Only people with an administrator account can go to the site admin.microsoft365.com and sign in with that administrator account. On the left, choose Copilot. And on this page, go to the Settings tab, then scroll down and click the line for extensions. And from here, the administrator can enable extensions for all users in the organization or for specific people. This will enable copilot agents for those people. And in the future, when these features are no longer in preview, it is likely that this step will just not be necessary.
