- Our organizations utilize numerous enterprise applications that often need to be integrated together to work properly. These include customer relationship management or CRM tools, enterprise resource planning, or ERP tools, the configuration management database, or CMDB and the content management systems, or CMSs. Now, the customer relationship management or CRM system is going to be used to store all the data relating to our organization's customers. This includes their names, contact information, past purchase history, and even their billing information in some systems. Access to this customer-centric database should be limited to personnel with a need to know such as the sales and marketing teams.
