- [Instructor] In this chapter, you'll explore many of the common integration techniques. Integrals tend to be more complex than limits and derivatives. You have learned what integrals are and many important integration rules, but there are still many scenarios where what you have learned so far will not be enough to help you successfully solve some integrals. The goal of learning the following integration techniques is to help you bridge that gap of knowledge and help you be able to properly learn integrals of some common functions later on. The integration techniques you will explore are: Integration by substitution. Integration by parts. Partial fraction decomposition. Integration by a trigonometric substitution. And improper integrals. Note that this does not compass all techniques available to calculate integrals, but it focuses on many of the common techniques used in a variety of integration scenarios.
