- [Presenter] With the private certificate authority in place, let's go ahead and request a private certificate. From the private certificate authority page, I click AWS certificate manager in the left hand nav, this pops open certificate manager in a new browser tab. To request a new certificate, I simply click the request a certificate button. The first thing I need to specify is the certificate type. I can either request a public certificate or request a private certificate. Since I want to request a private one, I select the request a private certificate radio button, then click next. On this page, I need to specify the certificate authority in question. In this case, I only have the root CA for my organization, so I go ahead and select that at this time. Scrolling down to the domain names section, I'm going to specify the fully qualified domain name of the certificate in question.
