Removing storage instances
- [Instructor] You can remove storage instances at any time, but need to understand specifically what you're doing. Keep in mind that removing storage instances entirely means that the data stored in those instances is lost as well. This needs to be done with some forethought considering that you could potentially lose a great deal of valuable data by mistake. In this case, AWS S3 ensures that you understand what's going to happen by typing in the name of the bucket in the dialogue box to ensure that there is no misunderstanding that your data will be lost. Now, the S3 instance is removed. This also can be done via the API or via the dashboard, or both. Of course, it's different considering what public cloud providers you're leveraging. You should understand exactly what you're doing when leveraging any mechanism that is able to access data.
