- [Instructor] To get us started, we'll look at the fundamental terms of quantum computing. The qubit and the qbyte. A qubit is one quantum computational unit and surprising, it can exist in multiple states. We'll be drilling into this throughout this course because it's very counterintuitive and it's a fundamental concept. A qbyte is eight qubits. Most of the development environments for quantum programming include some sort of qubit visualization. These visualizations can be as simple as ASCII art basically to something like this, which is two dimensional. This doesn't really represent all the information in a qubit but in some learning environments, the authors have gone to a 2D representation because it is more comprehensible. What I've found in some other work that I did learning quantum programming is that this did help me but I had to go to a richer visualization to really understand what was possible.…
