- [Instructor] So where are private clouds going? Let's explore some of the the significant trends that many see coming. First, they're normally playing a supporting role to public cloud providers. As we look in this course, several cloud providers provide public cloud products and smaller downsized versions of public clouds. Sometimes called edge clouds, examples include Microsoft Stack working with Microsoft Azure or AWS Outposts working with AWS Public Cloud. These private clouds are designed to support the larger public cloud counterpart by providing on-premise services for those workloads and data sets customers desire to keep running within a private cloud data center. We've covered many of the reasons why you want to do that. Often it was depicted in the tech press that it was private cloud versions of public clouds. This does not seem to be the case anymore.
