- [Instructor] Now let's look at the cloud complexity and management concept of active metadata management. Keep in mind that metadata is just data about data. So, ultimately, this is about leveraging automation and other automatic processes to keep track of information about the information, who owns it, properties of it, security parameters, governance parameters. There's a lot of information to be tracked around the information we're storing within the enterprise. This is about enforcing policies. This is about enforcing rules. This is about enforcing everything from data integrity checks to make sure we're validating the information that's flowing into the database, security checks to make sure it's leveraging up to encryption standards around security, and the ability to put guardrails around use of the data, our data governance.
